I'm working on a 1954 10hp Johnson. It use to run really well but it has sat for some time now. It was hard to start and I cleaned the carb and replaced the points and it now starts more easily but it runs rough. When it stops smoke comes out the carb. I don't remember seeing that before. What would cause this and is this my issue?

Thanks,
Gary

Have you adjusted the high and low speed jets correctly after starting with initial settings ?

I turned them all the way in then turned each about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn out and then tried adjusting them after the motor is running to try and smooth it out but it usually stalled out when I did that.

the attached video isn't very good but I think you see the smoke coming out of the carb and this is after the motor has stopped running.
