1954 QD Tiller Grip - original one?

I was looking for a replacement tiller grip and found a great site

The very old looking grip that's on my motor is exactly like the one shown on the site for "Gale\Viking\Elto" motors (black-552209), not the one that the site recommends for my motor.

Is it possible that the grip on my motor is original? If so, I'll replace it with the Gale one (552209).

If there's no chance that it is original - I will change it to the one the site recommends (303213).

Which do you think it is?

I think 303213 is the correct one.

Yeah, 303213 is the one shown in the '54 brochure on the old omc site.

As you probably realize, there are others that will fit. I guess you are going for a "correct" restoration. You are to be commended for wanting to get it right.

The parts manual says 303213.

Correct? HAHAHAHA...I laugh because you've never seen this motor. There's not much correct about it! One step at a time though...I'll have it looking like that sales brochure someday!
