1955 Alumacraft Drain Plug??

Upon further examination there is no drain plug on this old boat. I would like to have one but not sure if I should alter it at all?!
What would you do?

I would install one simply because I don't like bailing by hand after a rain.

A buddy of mine has had the Alumacraft drain plug exactly reproduced.
