From a previous helpful poster, I learned that this engine needs a pressurized tank. It also has, what appears to be, a three prong adapter that has two fuel hoses going to the engine. I've looked at the products at iboats and I don't see anything that seems to be what I think I need. Any help, or guidance would be appreciated.

You need to buy a dual line pressure tank if you don't already have one. They don't sell them new. Place a free add over at aomci.org, check your local buyandsell, craigslist or watch eBay. A good tank will run $30-100.

That tank is no longer made, and if available, that fuel connector is exspensive. You see these tank's on E-Bay, but I've often wondered, how do you ship a used gas tank with todays' regulations? One other out is to switch to a fuel pump.

switching to fuel pump might be an idea if u cant find a good and cheap pressure tank. the connectors r alot!!!!!!! of moola so if u dont have one it might be better to switch over not that hard

The 5.5 won't accept a fuel pump in the usual manner. Some people have been jury-rigging a Mikuni pump on them. Either way is going to set you back $100. Watch out with those used tanks. Full of rust and crud is often the norm.

Thank you guys for your input. This is a great, well managed forum. I have checked the engine out (good compression and a clean, bright spark) and it seems like it's in great condition overall. It would be a shame to let it sit due to a lack of a fuel system. I'll investigate both putting a pump on it and getting a tank someplace. Once again, thanks for your help.

I'd look for a good used tank. If you decide to use a fuel pump you'll have to remove the air intake, remove the two rubber check valves and plug one of them up. Then run the air line from the intake nipple to the pulse line on a three line pump. You will also need a single line fuel connector for the motor. Its not a difficult modification and the cost will probably be a wash. However, you can frequently find good used tanks for less than the cost of the fuel pump mod.

Thanks for the information wbeaton...........I believe I've located a good tank and hoses. You're probably correct that it's a wash either way, but a tank is easier and quicker. Appreciate the help.
