Post some pics if you can, my dad had one of those when I was a kid..( now 72), would bring back some fond memories for me, thanks. On ours there was a green flip lever for the choke, a small knob for low speed adj to carb, and I remember Dad often dropping the glass bowl under the carb to clean the crud...and yes breaking a few of those glass bowls as they are slippery with the gas/ oil mix on them, even learned a few curse words from watching !!!

I believe the knob is fuel shutoff.looks like it needs a carb rebuild.Amazingly the md series carbs still have kits out there.

As long as compression is good ive no doubt this will be a strong running motor next year.Theres a vid on the bing and he says it a strong motor and his starts and runs like new.Ah thats youtube.1954 elgin 7.5hp short vid, impressive runner.Next up is my 1939 evinrude 22.5 opposed twin for redo.

You might find one on ebay. When I restored my Firestone I found some parts on there for it. Check the inside of the gas tank make sure no rust. I had to coat the inside of mine. Great little motors.
