Hey gang !
A while back I spoke with someone on here and I lost who it was,but he told me how, and as well as makes these conversion kits to get away from the pressurized tanks. I need to find whoever that was again. I went to get the motor to use, { in the fall when I stored the tank, it was about or more than
half full}, I picked up the tank to start the motor, it was empty.Did I do something wrong storing it ? {venting},Or is there a leak.I was in need of a new gasket replacement on the tank and was about to do that as well ,I had had to last year take apart the handle to get to the screen in the tank to clean it, and ripped the gasket at that time. Could this be why I lost all my fuel over the winter. The tank looks to be in very good condition,no
rust at the seams and shows no sign of leaking. Thanks for the help & input !

Thank you JB. I think it was F-R that I spoke with about this kit.
Does anyone here know if there is a pump from a different motor that will be
compatable for my motor ? In the mean while could I get away with using
a gas tank repair kit ? I am in love with this motor and want to use it badly !!!!:D

If your tank is not rusty and has no holes in the metal, you can get a fuel tank repair kit at laingsoutboards.com for about $30 with shipping and he'll have it at your door in about 3 days or less, usually. That kit will have everthing you need.
You should also ask for some o-rings for the fuel line connector which are pretty cheap. I'm thinking that maybe your gas may have ran out that connector over the winter (just a guess) by siphoning out.

I'm not sure how you're planning on mounting your fuel pump, so I don't know what to tell you on that one.

That probably was me. I make an adapter plate to mount a stock fuel pump similar to the way they are mounted on newer motors. Or you can make your own. I sure don't get rich at it.
