I recently got a new used boat with a 1955 evinrude 15 hp fastwin 15014 is the model number but I am having troubles finding stuff for it. I would like to go ahead and replace the impeller and lower union oil. Where is a good place to find parts for older outboards? Even when I search for the repair manual I can only find a 1956-1972 repair manual and ebay says it will cover my model number as well but I am not sure. Thanks for your help as always

Bump
Anyone know if the 1955 evinrude 18hp is the same as the 15hp? I can seem to find seal kits for that one. Even tried to do a model number search in seirra catalog and found a few things like impeller and carb parts but no seals. really want a complete lower unit seal kit if possible.

15-18 are similar, but different. There are some seals in the lower unit that are different, especially the prop shaft seal. Caution: It is entirely possible that somebody has changed the prop shaft bearing head and seal assy to the 18hp type, which would mean that it now takes the 18hp seal. Conclusion: Nobody knows without a looksee.

Thanks for the reply I will check that website out.

So I will have to tear apart and measure the old bearings/shaft
