Bought a Johnson 15hp (1956) last year. Ran this last weekend and everything was fine. Tried it this week and it started up sputtered out and died. Any ideas where to start. Checked out the basics, it is getting gas.
I just bought a 1956 15hp johnson and would like to restore it. I am going to do this project on my own so I can be ready for next spring. Where can I get information and parts to complete my winter project?

Plenty of antique restorer hobbyists at the antique outboard motor club. www.aomci.org. Check out their Ask-A-Member forum. They also have a free classified ads section where you can post a wanted ad to find parts. Heck if you really want to get into the hobby, visit one of the local meets.
