1956 Evenrude 30 hp charging question?

does a 1956 Evenrude 30 hp motor have a built in charging system it has a magneata when you start it off the battery it will stay running, I dont know much about thies things im learning i cant find a place to hook no charging wire up so i would apprecate any info i can get?

They just start off the battery and don't recharge it. Just put a charger on the battery once a week during the season and you should be fine.

Hello.<br />These engines use a magneto system.Once you start the engine it produces its own power for the plugs to spark, but only for that.There is no charging system.The only reason why you have a battery is to make the starter run and the engine does not recharge the battery.
