Went out yesterday for the first time this year. Ran great for an hour or so then lost power. Checked compression and spark today, both good. Carb has an old cork float, but looks otherwise clean, Suggestions?

Single or double line tank? Did you try pumping it (fuel) when it lost power?

Dual line pressure tank. I can see fuel in the glass fuel bowl under the carb. Some "gaskets" in the carb look shredded and the cork float is flaking. I will try a carb cleaning/kit and new float. Then hope that's it. Rick

Give that cork float a "decent" burial, its served its purpose a long time.:D

Carb kit and parts blow up show (2) lead shots. I see where the one goes, but what about the second? Where does it go? Also, how do I remove the old lead shot(s)? Rick

I pull them out with needlenose or side cutters, whatever grips the best. It may be more of a "one kit fits many" kit with extra goodies, I just keep em as spare parts. If you can't see it it's cause it's not there!
