I just recently performed tune-up in my 56 15hp. I placed the flywheel over magneto but when I rotate the flywheel slowly by hand in a clock-wise fashion it gets to a point where it wants to bend the lever assembly.

Why would the flywheel be trying to take the magento with it past this point , any ideas? The coils are not the problem.

I will try and post a few pictures < if i have not been clear enough.

Are the condenser wires tucked down under the level of the coils? Are the coil shoes flush with the machined surfaces of the mag plate? Those are about the only two places that can contact the flywheel as everything else is far enough away to not cause problems.

Thanks I will check the coil shoes to see if they are flush.
