Look for a complete used lower unit. It will probably be cheaper than buying the housing and prop shaft and you'll have a spare gear set to boot. That lower unit was used on the 10 and 18 hp from 1956-1959. I think there was a change in 1960, but it may be possible to use a newer LU from the 1960's. I don't have my books in front of me right now, but I'm sure someone else will come along.

Check eBay, post an ad on craigslist, or post a free ad over at AOMCI.

BTW, the 3 prong fuel connector that's on the hose is quite expensive. Over $100 at a dealer. It's easier to find a whole tank used with hose for $50 or so. As for the 3 prong receiver that goes on the engine, I dunno how expensive they are. They seem to be needed a lot less.

There are a couple of old 15HP Evinrudes on Ebay right now. Except for the covers, the mechanicals are identical. Rick

Saw the fuel prong connector there the other day, too. Less than $20. PM me and I'll email you the Parts List/diagrams for the 57 FD-11, same motor (almost) but makes 18 hp.

a guy in hackensack mn called tim's outboard usually has what I've needed for 'hard' parts and I get tuneup parts from napa (sierra parts) or local marina (brp replacement). Good luck. Git'r running and she'll keep on going!
