have read two different ratios ......is it 24/1....or 16/1? im barrel running/working on it at 16/1 and its a first pull motor when cold.....pull the cord 8 inches when warm and it runs like a top. should i go with the weaker mix or stay at 16/1?

Recommendations have changed some in recent years. I used 24:1 in my CD-13 for years without problems and would do it again.

I have a 56 and leave it at 16:1. Not worth risking the motor for a little bit of oil in my opinion. Like yours, it starts very easily.

I prefere to run mine at 16:1 myself. 24:1 is more suitable for the bigger motors that have the needle bearing setup on the crank and rods. I have heard lots of people run these at 24:1 and they do fine, but just remember, there are no needle bearings in that motor. The front decal even says 16:1 (half pint per gallon) so I just stay with it.
