Re: 1957 evinrude 35hp lark
I always and only use the recommended mix... one quart to six gallons in the red Day Cruiser Tank... 24:1 mix.
Still running oil bought back in the early 60's... long story, but my Grandfather had a fellow settle a bill with 10 or 15 cases of outboard motor oil... we would use a quart each day out on the lake and still have a couple cans left.
My Uncle bought the boat new in 57/58 and it still has the original 35 hp Lark with electric start.
We are spoiled by this boat/motor... never have done any maintenance or winterizing... ever... aside from adjusting the points and replacing the gear lube once because I had it in SF Bay for two days and was told it was especially important because of the Salt Water.
Every summer you would find us out on the Lake at Tahoe teaching friends how to water-ski... Each fall it would go back to the shed at the cabin and every spring I would top-off the gas and borrow a charged 12v battery and head for the Lake.
50 years later... why take a chance?
