HI...
I'm looking for a source for parts for my motor.
For starters I need an upper and lower gear housing (parts # 377117). I had the lower unit gaskets and seals replaced last year and the mechanic noted that the bearing in the housing is worn out allowing the drive shaft to wobble. I just recently noticed that the lower gear housing has a small crack which let's the lower unit lube escape slowly. I searched on ebay and found a complete motor but it was in Canada and I could'nt get it shipped for a reasonable cost so I'm back to square one.

Sounds like you need a new whole lower unit. I see a couple on ebay right now. Use these search terms:
(18, 18hp) (johnson, evinrude) ("lower unit", gearcase, gear)

A '59 for $75 and a '64 for $50. Hard to beat those prices. You could try tcoutboards.com, etc (google "used outboard parts"), for a good used one but I'd expect they'd want at least $200 for one.

I believe any 18hp Johnny/Rude gearcase '57-'72 or so fit, as well as some late 60s/early 70s 20 and 25hp gearcases. Maybe someone who knows the 22.0CID engines a bit better can confirm that.
