Well, in my experience, stuff at the bottom of a pile of junk is generally junk.

weres a good website to get an ol 57' johnson, i live in a small town in montana with the nearst lake about 50miles from here... ill be lucky if i even find any kind of motor for sale (not by that guy at least) and i really accualy want an ol late 50s model johnson? they look so sweet, and probly work as good too! i want it to accualy work im gonna put it on my 16' aluminum boat :D i already have a 15hp gamefisher.. but its a GAMEFISHER everything for that motor has been discontinued.. and i want somthing that still has lots of parts for... so any website or ideas would be great!

Easy, place a free wanted ad on the aomci.org website. I became a member recently because those guys are both honest, helpful, know how to ship stuff, etc. You WILL get a response. If a member says they'll sell you one that has new coils, good lower unit, etc. then I'd be inclined to believe it and pay accordingly. I sold one for $600 that I'd fixed mechanically and put a decent paint job on. It was worth it. I'll bet you could get a good one that isn't freshly painted for half that or better. I've gotten mine on ebay but don't suggest it because they WILL get broken in shipping nearly every time.
