I just acquired a 1957 Johnson Golden Javelin that I'm going to restore. Does anyone have the torque specs for the cylinder head bolts? Thanks Jennie

Welcome Back.

It is 18 to 20 ft/lbs, or 216 to 240 inch/lbs, depending on what wrench you have.

Start in the center, and spiral outwards in a circular fashion. Start at half torque value for a rotation, then 3/4 value, then the final circle at 20 ft/lbs. Dont forget to dress the head before installing!

Great motor, I have half a dozen of them in various states or restoration. They look great done.
