Re: 1957 Johnson Javelin 35hp resource site
I wasn't able to find your web site, just a Geocities web page.
Several days ago I bought this boat, motor and trailer
http://members.localnet.com/~apowen/boat/boat.jpg
and the owner said it was a 1957 and I confirmed from the plate on the engine that it's an RJE-19. Would you know how many cold cranking amps I should be looking for in a battery for this? I just need it for starting and then to keep the running lights lit. The hull is a 1960 Arkansas Traveler and it came with a 6 gallon tank. Should I be getting an additional tank for reserve because I've read that these engines use more gasoline than newer ones?
