That has turned out to be one beautiful boat. I really like the attention to details and all the vintage parts.
I hope your not paranoid, you will have a lot of folks starring at your boat.
Great Job.

 The paint, the real wood, the workmanship! WOW! Very nice looking boat! :D Lookin good.
I also definatally don't think that there is too much "bling" on the bow, one can never have too much ;).

Man that thing looks like it should be in a museum I would be afraid of ruining it by putting it in the water perfect! in every aspect. All you need now is a skippers hat and paint the heads of those Starcraft mounting screw heads blue (in my opinion) but it's perfect great job!!!!!! to bad you don't have Woody to pull it.

wrfalpacas,
Maybe you should just find a boat museum now, before you put it in the water and get a stain on it.
It just keeps getting better everytime I look at it.
Well Done again.

I have been sort of a silent follower of this restoration since the beginning and I must say it is a museum quality job. I doubt they came out of the factory that nice. I am currently restoring (or trying to restore) a '59 Starcraft SpeedQueen that I will eventually post pictures of. If it turns out half as nice as yours I will be thrilled. I may steal your paint scheme though, hope you don't mind...

That is a wonderful piece of workmanship you have there. There should be no head hanging at your house. Definitely museum quality.:)

Like so many others have said, I'm envious! Not only of the boat, the outboard and the bling, but if the obvious skill and attention to detail displayed by you Bret. Great job!

Got the tunes installed, my one concession to modern times. The amp is hidden behind the dash, the Ipod is mounted as seen, and the speakers are up underneath the bow, hopefully it doesnt detract from the period resto toomuch, but there issomething about listening to Buffett while you are tooling around the lake that can't be beat :D

Damn. There isn't an angle you can look at it that doesn't look perfect.

Hi, Bret,

Wow! Can you please tell me the model of this amp? I was thinking I'd need a car stereo but something like this looks like the better move to make for my Batboat.

The logo looks like a Lepai? (edit: nevermind, I found it. Lepai TA2020 Class T Amp Mini Stereo Amplifier 20WX2 )

(I can take the electronics out of an amp like this and put it in a metal enclosure with old knobs and switches to make a Bat-gadget.)

Re: 1957 Starcraft Ski Champ Restoration

Darren,

That's it, got one off of ebay for my previous restore and liked it so much I got another. Now I can just take my Ipod from boat to boat. These little amps really work well, I was planning on getting a marine stereo for my other boat and didn't like the price tag, so I started searching and found these. Really put out plenty of power for our needs.

I spent the afternoon wiring up the courtesy lights, they are on a dimmer too. Also added some bling led lights to illuminate the starcraft logo (kind of like the lights airliners use to illuminate their tail and the airlines logo)
