This one still works but the worn threads bother me, hate to have it strip out in the middle of the BWCA. The OD of the threads is 15/16".

I've seen the rubber ones but I'd rather have an original if I can find one.

Thanks

I've got the same one in my old boat
simply got a 15/16x1" bolt from ace hardware with the same threads and a handful of hard rubber o-rings (at $0.14 each I'll use a new one every time)

If you want original. Make sure it's clean then slick some JB weld over the threads until they are just covered. Then all you need to do is run a die over the threads to clean the JB weld out. the worn imperfections will remain filled in with JB. Spray some rough cast paint over it to match and.. Done.

I suspect that you would be hard pressed to strip that plug with a 14" pipe wrench.... the threads on the bung are likely the same... I would just use it as is.

I suspect that it would take many many thousands of times more pressure than it will ever see to cause it to fail.
just my .02 YMMV
