Found this one in Georgia. For sale for only $50. It's a 3 hour drive for me. Would cost more in gas than the actual hull. Motor and trailer not included. The motor likes like the original Elgin. I've emailed them to see if they still have the outboard. To me, an old boat with the original motor makes it look so much more nostalgic. Would be a nice project. I have been down there once to look at a boat. They literally have boats stacked on top of each other. Glad I don't live closer. I would have boats stacked in my backyard!

I think that Elgin has been on their site for a LONG time. $50 isn't any kind of special deal, you can find boats like that on Craigslist for free all the time! She's likely to need a lot of work- I'm sure a new transom, floors, and stringers. Also missing a windshield, and who knows what else.

That looks like a '57 or '58 Johnson on there- I agree, boats DO look better with 'original' power.

Is it restorable? Sure. Is it worth it? Depends. You aren't likely to ever recover your investment in time/money. But, if you are doing it for yourself, by all means go ahead!

Alot more work than I'd be willing to put into that particular rig, but I'm not you.

If she had a windshield, I'd be all over her, but... with these old girls that seems to be the Big Deal!!! They are easy to to fix but hard to find parts for.
