1959 Evinrude 10HP Sportwin 10019

I've remove the powerhead off my 1959 Evinrude for maintenance. Aside from the gasket, is there anything else I should consider replacing before reassembling the motor?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Inspect the carbon seal on the bottom of the crankshaft.----Replace the o-ring ( Or quad ring ) inside the carbon element.------Look at bottom piston and rings.------Look for play in the wristpin on the piston.-----The bushing on the wristpin is prone to wearing out.-----Curious----Why did you remove the power head ?

impeller + ... oil check the GC for water intrusion if you find water you will need a reseal or..frequent oil changes :-(

59s have thermostats ... I think may a well check it to !

what is a PH maintenance... ???

carb overall .. ignition checked for cracked coils... good sparks ?? etc... plug wires good ?? points condensers OK

I had to remove the powerhead in order to change 2 of the 4 upper cowling mounts.
