Hello,

First time posting a message but have read many useful info.
Here's my issue ... my 1959 Lark, 35 hp won't idle in neutral for long periods of time unless the cover hatch is open. Is it choking itself out due to an exhaust leak under the cover when it's sealed up?

Any tips would be useful.

Thanks

There is an o-ring on top of the water pump housing, and 2 more like it on the extension tube if you have a long shaft. If somebody leaves any of those out when doing a water pump job, it will cause the trouble you describe.
