1959 Johnson RDS21B lower unit swap

Dear Sirs:
Can anyone tell me if I can install a lower unit from a 1961 40 hp RDSL23 on a 1959 35 hp RDS21B?

Chris, i'm not postive, but there was a change in that time frame. from the single water tube to the double water tube. the 61 has the double tube. drop the 59 and see which it has. other than that i think they are plug and play.

If you are sure it is a '59, yes it will work.

It is a double tube.
So I bought the 40 hp unit, for a rebuild, on ebay. $40 plus ship.
