Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has an exploded view of a 1959 Johnson seahorse 10 hp, or can tell me if it's possible to replace the center bushing in the plate on top of the engine w/o taking the recoil for the pullstart apart. The worn bushing is causing the plate to rattle/ vibrate & cause high noise levels. Also does anyone have any tips on how to get the low carb adjustment knob to stick better when turning....as it is the shaft spurs (?) are worn down.

Thanks a ton.

Hello.
I am not sure about the bushing, but there are two things you can do about the loose low speed needle valve. There is a nut around the valve that tightens into the carburator housing. You can tighten that one a bit more. Also you should buy a few packing washers that go around the needle valve, put them on and then tighten your nut down.
Hope this helps.

Well, it's the splines on the shaft of the low adjustment needle that are worn down....the knob just slips on the shaft....

There should be a screw that by screwing it into the shaft widens the shaft and thereby clamps the handle onto it.

JB Weld the knob on the shaft. Sand both parts first.

c/6
Hooty
