I have a question to the Starcraft folks. Could I convert this to an open boat by removing the front bow cover?
I am looking for an older one to build a 16' bare bones open utility boat with 25-40 hp tiller motor.
I would like to use a boat with wide gunwales like some old Starcraft and Sea Nymphs were built.
Would it be too much trouble to remove the bow cover and make it look finished?
Here is the boat I am looking at : http://columbus.craigslist.org/boa/2844440422.html

That boat looks way too cool to do that to. But if you must, it can be done. Check out Jasoutside's thread were he opened up a Jetstar... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=455193
In any event, you can probably find a cheaper one to start with.
Good luck and have fun!

You are right that boat is too nice to chop up. Thanks for pointing me to the Jasoutside's project.
Seeing all that work he did is a sobering experience. I think I will looking for an old open bow for my adventure.
