2 cylinder. The seller is mistaken. <br /><br />FYI - After WWII, Johnson dropped it's only single cylinder outboard - the little 1.5hp MD/MS-20. It had produced these up 'till '42 when Johnson switched over to war production.<br />Then in '68 they brought out the SC-10. Again this was a single cylinder outboard that was rated for 1.5hp. Later it got hopped up to 2hp.<br />Neither 1.5hp looks anything like a JW/JH engine.
