kind of an interesting thing found today while ripping out he transom. Found a notch patch that they probably thought would never be found. At least they used 1/2 or 5/8 dowells and Lott's of epoxy to hold it in. I'm guessing they didn't have big enough pieces of wood on the press where they made the transom. Hey it held for 50 years. Kind of a pain in the butt to get out though.

Ok , need some advice. Am starting to try and put a budget together so I know how much to put away in steps. I've still got some demo to go but need to know what kind and how much epoxy to get when I start. My steps will be transom, then stringers, then floor, then possibly hull strength as nurseman had done ect. I live in southern Utah and don't have a really good fiberglass place to ask so what would I need in order to start with the transom? Type of glass, epoxy, hardener, filler, thickener, ect. Again I need to buy in stages. I realize bulk is always better but am trying to budget over time. For example, how many quarts, gallons ect would you estimate to peanut butter laminate in each layer of transom? And how much cloth, what kind of cloth do you use to attach to the sides of the hull. Am currently looking at other threads to get a rough idea, but would rather hear from you guys. From what I've seen you guys are masters at this. And if you're not, you sure fake it well. Thanks!!

As much as this pains me, I'm going g to have to suspend my rebuild indefinitely. Took a new job that allows for absolutely no free time to access my boat. I'm hoping things will calm down in about 6-8 months or so. Too many things pulling me in different directions and not enough me. Thanks to all those that have helped me thus far. When I reinitiate the build, will let you know. Thanks again.
