Hmm, ^^^ that sounds even better. Switches might even be incorporated to the starboard end of the forward side of the splashwell, or that side gunwale. If you're a righty, and man the tiller left handed.

You're like a tin architect & surgeon all-wrapped in 1! :thumb:

Super neat work on that splashwell...the layout is really starting to take shape!

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks guys! Yup... I agree with ya all! Hadn't thought of that.... so I will put the SC gauges in the Jupiter and hold on to the faris one for another boat! I like the idea of putting those gauges in the rear box.... battery is right there and makes it all nice and tidy.

Got out this am and made some decent progress....

Transom bolts are all in. Eye hooks are in. Splashwell is riveted and attached and sealed up. Gunwales are riveted back in place.

I cut the rear box down to 10" high... it looked funny and was unnecessarily high. Much better now I feel.

Cut the centre seat piece and a new bow deck. It doesn't show it here... but I also sparred them up as well as the rear seat box.

I also installed the bilge pump thingy... in the side of the hull --- for the life of me I can't remember what it's called.

So... as I said some decent progress for a Kanuck!!

Have a great evening fellas and thanks again for the thoughts!! :)

It's the bilge hole filler-iner. Jeez! I can't remember the name either. :facepalm:pr

Is the box the tiller seat. 10" is probably a better tillering height. All looks good!

Plugging away here... here's where I'm at...

All sparred up...

I trimmed the piece that will seal off the splash well. It needed to be lower in the centre a bit to accommodate the tiller handle.

Added a piece of foam for the fuel line to run through so it won't rub on anything up front.

Also started riveting the floor down.

Once the floor is riveted in place, I have the front metal piece to get back in place and then it'll be time to order the flooring. Got a bunch of spring cleaning to do... so I expect to order the flooring in the next coming weeks.

Have a great Wednesday!

Clean up is right! The problem with a polished hull is it acts like a mirror and all the stuff shows behind the camera. You know I'm jokin' with ya, Jim. :)

She will be a nice one when your wood touches fall into place.

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks CP!!! Just plugging along here!

Fellas... got some progress work --- floor is riveted down now and ready for flooring.

Did a long over due and rather tedious task of painting my daughters doll house.... and now it is done and out of the shop!! Replaced of course by bikes!! So it is a bit more cramped in there!! Had to get the back deck all setup for spring/summer use! Also had to switch out tires --- so all in all a busy weekend with house/car/boat/dollhouse and fun activities... but not much progress.

So here is the plan... this boat is going to get to a semi complete state and then take a respite for a year or two tops! Yup, made the hard decision to wait and pay off the house first! So, the motor has to wait... thus no real need to put seats in it or take it to 100% completion until then. But I will be still hang in' around! :)

So, this week, gonna work on front bow section and get the floor ordered to go in next weekend all being well!

Have a great one fellas!

Hey Jim glad your weather has improved. It's funny how life throws plan changes at us all the time, what will you spent all your "spare" time tinkering on now?;)

That certainly is a tough decision and one fought by many. I am sure that although it won't be a top priority project there is no doubt you will still tinker around with it and when the time comes take it to the 100%.

Thanks guys... the Admiral had the top card here and rightfully so, emerged victorious! Heart of hearts, it is the right thing to do...

It all makes sense, Jim. Besides the Falcon to too small to live aboard. You won't be leaving, just joining the long duration builds. :joyous:

It'll be a good feeling having the house paid, and the boat plan can't change too much over the next year, or can they?
