Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks there Astor... can boat plans change... in a year.... uh... not the boat itself per se.... but potentially another twist here... stay tuned.

In the mean time,

Vinyl flooring has been ordered, a few other remaining bits have been ordered.

Front wood and metal have been fused together and riveted in place as well as the interior mocked up to see part of the layout... bench seat in the centre though... the pedestal will go at the front:

Another view...

Working on the decorative bit for the electrical...

Some more progress....
Gonna get the side pieces completed and carpeted this weekend around loads of family time...

Have a great day folks!

i like your work and i like your focus on keeping sane and priorities. and i hope for Jas' sake his wife doesn't read this thread.....;)

i forget: do you have a small motor that would let you use the boat as a tiller steer puttputt?

Thanks B2...! Nope... no small motor for this one... the 10hp is on another 14' SC at the lake... Can't take that one --- if I want to not live in the fort.

J, I do understand priorities, but you have to stay in the loop, it would be a sad day around here if you were not in the mix! And that is a fact!! Your tin wisdom is appreciated more than you know.

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks a bunch there guys!! Much appreciated!!! CP --- no worries man... I'll be sticking around... got some changes coming to the Jupiter this spring as well.... motor is getting replaced with something quite different, new lights, new gas tank, changes to the interior.... so ya, there will be some work to do...

But first, gotta get this one done... it's hmmmm how do I say, pretty much sold.

Yup.... it's going about 15 doors up from where I live to a very close friend! He is just getting approval this weekend... but that's the way it looks at this point!

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Hey fellas... been out sick for a bit and the top 20 feet of an 80 ft poplar broke off and hit our house... so gonna be tied up fixing the holes in the roof properly, eves trough, fence etc, etc!! Pretty wild to have a huge chuck of tree land on the roof of your house!!! No one was hurt... just a bunch of damage...

Anyway, the floor is covered in vinyl and everything else is carpeted and ready to go. I'll take some picks when I get back on my feet properly.

Have a great one fellas.

just don't let the Admiral hear you say "well, at least it didn't fall on one of the boats..." She may have a different analysis than you on the relative importance of shelter and tin . ;)

Bummer, glad it was only the house that got clobbered.

Have a better bottom half of the week! It's almost Friday's eve........

Wow - Glad the family is OK, Jim. If it happened when all of you were in bed, a rude, frightening awakening.

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks guys. I just have happened to be sound asleep (as I was feeling like carp at the time) about 15' from where the tree hit. Certainly got the heart going. I woke up quickly.

Ok... for those of you who thought that the inmotion family had gone crazy, here's one to fully convince you that we've all completely gone mad! All this time lying around sick with lots of time to think has resulted in a complete 180. We are selling the Jupiter and keeping the Falcon. The Falcon is getting the console back (Admiral requirement) and the long forgotten 40 hp evinrude at my folks is going to get fixed up and be put on the Falcon for a while. Logic (if there is any at this point!): I can easily tow the Falcon with either of my cars and it is smaller to manouver for the Admiral. The steering wheel from the Jupiter will also be gracing the Falcon as it was a special gift from the Admiral.

So there ya have it... looneytoon city has declared a final episode to the otherwise flip flop reverse slam dunk season of insanity! No wineypants here... I love the idea and look forward to something new to grace the waterways with. Cross your fingers... hopefully this will be the last flip flop idea! Man I swear... decisions around this household are usually made a lot more directly! I guess, it just hasn't been right nor easy to let go and move on.

The saga continues....

Have a great evening folks!

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

i know where you're coming from there. i've changed directions on a # of things on the Holiner and had to toss a bunch of work i'd completed.

i can hardly wait to see how many twists and turns the saga takes when you finish this one and buy a 22' Chieftain, once one of the tow vehicles gets replaced.....since i'm sure that when that time comes, towing capacity will be in at least the back of your mind......:devilish:

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Jeez, I hope you don't get sick very often.... :watermelon:

Good deal, your neighbor taking the Jupiter instead of the Falcon? Or someone else?

No matter, more house pay off/boat building funds (bigger boat & OB so more $, correct?), you get the funds sooner(boat's already finished), the buyer gets the boat sooner, PLUS the Admiral's wheel on the sporty little, easy to maneuver boat, it seems all is right w/ the IM family's boat world. Keep this up though, and I'll be forced to call ya the Jas of the north, K?

Now, about those repairs to the house....

Looking forward to seeing the new, revised, replacement, new, new plan put into action.
