Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Guys... I think I forgot to factor in the MIL Factor and the cost of having a 100 ton crane come in a remove a tree (think 4k+)..... hmmm.... JB --- don't think I can sign that just yet... Formulating a different plan. Got my 2.5 year mortgage payoff plan that I am sticking too... Good news is ONE is staying. The other is leaving...

Other good news... I was able to get the whole tree falls on house mess cleaned up, fence fixed (the thing broke a 4x4 in half!), eves trough fixed and the 2 large holes in the roof fixed among a myriad of other things that needed fixing from the effects of gravity and a large top of a tree!

My son decided that his chin need to make contact rather abruptly with the driveway and spent a couple of hours in emerg to get 4 stitches. Turns out as well he split a molar in two so that will be getting pulled tomorrow am! Man... kids!

So overall an interesting weekend. Boat building re-commences tomorrow am!

Have a great one!

Jim

Holy cow Jim you need to kick Murph's butt out of your life as well. Sorry for all the bad luck coming your way, hope it all gets better from here.

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Popular trees have been a pain in my butt

I had one break and fall on a fence, affected two neighbors...

One neighbor that took the brunt was like "meh, I never go in that corner anyway"

I talked him into calling my ins and told him to go buy something shiney with the money.

So he got a shed :watermelon:

Yeah, he waves at me now :)

Other neighbor that took just a little damage made a big deal about it and even went off about my weight of all things.

He is an a**hole

So now I just grab a beer and pull out a log, and watch him till they scoot back inside (think super creepy bwhahaha).

So yup, could be worse... :)

Guessing the crane is to pull the tree off of the house?

Right after the one tree fell down, I had a pro come out and knock down the two trees close enough to hit my house/deck.

Then started watchin youtube on how to lumberjack, then bought a plaid shirt and a big chainsaw :D

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks guys! Ya... all good now. House, fence, etc all repaired. Just got to get the rest of the monster down!

Ok... back at it here...

Progress shots:

Floor is in!

Rub rail is on and all bits that are to be carpeted are carpeted:

Gas line is also in as well as wiring to front light.

Tonight, I got the front platform screwed in and the vinyl on and set.

I'll snap some more pic's tomorrow with the interior in. Spar goes on the "accent" wood in the am --- coat # 1. Wiring will be in as well.

Moving along....

Also had quite the chat with the Admiral about whether to keep it or not. Bottom line: It goes up for sale. If it doesn't sell, it gets kept. That's my story... things are of course subject to change around the inmotion household!! :)

Have a great evening fellas... enjoy spring!!!!!!!!!!!

As promised... some update photo's. Still need to spar the wood and paint the boat, but much of the big stuff is now done.

Need to trim the top side boards to fit... but it works... the watchful owl approves!

Onwards we go!

Thanks BF! Little by little it is actually coming together!

Got a coat of spar on the accent wood tonight. Will get up tomorrow and get another one on...

On another weird note, got a call from my motor guy from his customer looking to buy my 90 hp.... we'll see if it all pans out... funny how that is sometimes!!!

Since I am not sure what the new owner will have motor wise, I have left the fitting off on the front piece of gas hose. I am providing a merc and omc fitting for back and front...

Brand new cover all fitted:

New high end tow vehicle for moving the boat around when on my driveway....

So there you have it! No water splash here.... but a completed project!!!!!!!!!

Have an awesome day fellas!!!

Thanks fellas!!!!

GA --- Just put it up yesterday.... so not sold yet... but a couple of interested parties. Interesting market here right now... I have priced it fairly given the fact that there isn't a motor.... I expect it to sell for near what I am asking.

Take care guys.

Sad to see it go I as I enjoyed working on this one... but the guy that has bought it is totally stoked to get out on the water asap and get fishing!!!

Anyway, haven't been around much here as I have been crazy busy at home and work and this website is still ahhhh.... how should I put it politely, malfunctioning. But have a great summer guys!!!
