I got one of the wires to produce spark but not the other, we are going to the machine shop tomorrow to fab a flywheel puller, once we get that off and get 2 new wires will it be relatively easy to change both spark wires?

It's not hard. You just need to remove the mag plate to get to the screws that hold the clamps and what-not underneath. Four screws hold the mag plate on, two go through the coil heels and two are down next to the points. What kind of shape are the coils themselves in? If they are original or show any cracks in the housings you'll want to replace those too. Points and condensers also? Cheap insurance!

Make sure you get the proper spark plug wire. You need metal core wire. The carbon core resister wire of the kind used in your car will not work.
