i can get a 1961 royal scott 34.7 hp on a boat of same year 300.00 motor rolls over by hand is it worth messing with

Check compression first. If you come up with decent numbers(and within 10% of each other), it might be worth trying.

What are u paying for boat and motor? Seller's ALWAYS say that their motors run well...and magically they run like crap(if at all) when you put them in the water :rolleyes:

300.00 the owner is a my neighbor he isnt none to lie real good guy getting old cant use it any more boat is rough stearing frozen seat shot but every thing is there even that vintage chrome

It's all up to you on how much money you want to spend on it. Sometime down the line, buy a parts motor for the big stuff.

BTW: It won't offend anyone here at iboats, if you use punctuation in your sentences.:p Had to read your post a couple times to figure out what you were trying to say.
