This site has been a terriffic resource for me while I worked on my new find. I've only made one post, but have read hundreds of others. Thanks to all past and present for their information!

Here's my new toy - a $200 boat and motor from a 60+ year old friend who "upgraded" to a Lund with a Honda 4 stroke. It has been in his family since new. The 1962 Merc 25HP motor runs and looks as if it just came out of the showroom.

He knew I liked old toys. :p

Here's what I did to make it more usable for us:
* Motor is in the shop being overhauled - rubbers, impeller, etc.
* Removed (and stored) windshield.
* Removed seat back from front bench.
* Stained and sealed benches, dash, and transom.
* Installed a fixed padded seat for the driver and a swivel seat for the passenger.
* Installed a fishing riser seat on the back bench with good access to the trolling motor.
* Installed a cupholder on the dash - my buddy kept putting his can drink on the bow when we were out last week...
* Installed a rod holder behind the back bench seat.
* Rewired lights and installed new stern light.
* Polished bow deck - the old boy earned those scratches!
* Painted sides.
* New province registration - numbers will go on tomorrow.

Going camping with my wife this weekend. Time to show it off! My 3HP trolling motor moves it around the lake just fine.
