Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Great find there PB. Welcome to the club! That's a project for sure. Love the speakers the best. I think you're going to be ok with that trailer. Bow stop just needs to come up a good bit. Check out how far mine is up on the trailer http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/ezmobee/New Boat/DSCF2140.jpg That will fly with your 115. My 18' hit 39 with a 90 with 3 adults. I agree the windshield would be cool if better installed and I actually really like the checkered paint job idea, again if better executed.

I like them speakers. Just put some padding on top and you've got some awesome seats.

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

5 Speed, seating won't be nothing like that, two or three pedalstals and thats it, I need the space for all the fish I catch ;)....thanks for looking!

Me too sprintst, being as I'm not sure where this is headed yet LOL

Thanks Captmills, now I've got this visual of scrapping poo off my vessel

Hey EZ, careful with that PB stuff, things could back-fire and you could find yourself being called Poo Bears lil' buddy... :DLOL. Hey I checked out your photo, looks as though it sits well, but with my health, weakness and laziness, I need room for the jack and also plan for a spare tire carrier, plus I'm not wild about not being able to lower the tailgate on my truck if needed while hooked up, can your's open? Anyways, if the urge ever talks my enthusiasm to an adventure, I'm leaning towards swapping trailers with the Imperial as it's a tad longer and a bunch more beefier...we'll see.

Thanks for looking PaulyV, at first I thought those lights were out & out ridiculous, but now I'm reconsidering..I fish Lake St Clair regularly especially around Harsen's Island which has an infinate amount of cuts and canal's to explore. I think these might be very handy, as trying to smoke, hold a cold one, steer while using a handheld spotlight gets to be an adventure in it's own at times.

LOL McGr, butt only if ya play music that soothes. no metal, hard rock, backwoods country or pop stuff near my hiney!!!

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Slow day today, windy, cold, & feeling the effects of playing in the cold drizzle yesterday...but I won't let it slow me to a standstill.

Got my first taste of dancing to the 'ship shape shuffle' switching boats
around the driveway, I feel like a rich hillbilly having 2 boats at the same time in the yard, just need a truck up on blocks, and a washing machine out here to be King of the hood

Just as tight back here as is in the driveway

Pardon the mess, you know how it is with us guy's and our never ending 'projects'

Did manage to remove the windshield & grab rail thingy's off the gunwales

But most importantly, the poo is gone lol

Happy weekend all....

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Thanks folks for lookin in...I appreciate the comments, all of them!

LOL, Rick, I bow before thee...if I had 4 boats here, I'd have to sleep in one of them.

Hey Sling, I was going to ask why you passed on her, but you might miss x-mas by answering. :D
Where are you at btw? I'm in Madison Heights.

More photo's coming in a minute or three...

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Still slow going, but that's me in a nut shell..lol

Carpets out, deck seems solid but not trimmed to fit very well... 3/4" will be replaced with 1/2" or 5/8th's...
dscf0084j.jpg

The trim piece's with the slots had rope lighting and the main panels had a dome light...guess the lexan pieces were cosmetic art? lol
dscf0072q.jpg

Wiring was easy to remove, when it looks like this... just snip snip
dscf0073.jpg

found another bonus
dscf0077b.jpg

Seems as though there were some problems in where to install the winch eye

Forward deck section out

More on the way...

Don't go 1/2" on the floor. You'll hate it. 5/8" minimum.

You can probably get a few bucks for that Mercury control unit.

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

see some light coming in above the bow eye bolts
dscf0079r.jpg

side panels{whatever they're called} supports look ok but will at least seal them if not replaced
dscf0094.jpg

Sections removed will be semi good for templates
dscf0108i.jpg

Far as I got before the wet stuff started coming down from above
dscf0096.jpg

Which in turn gave me reason to clean up the garage and the woodstove, won't be long now before needing it...how do you guys heat your work area{s}
dscf0109z.jpg

a few old patches found while cleaning up, the black & yellow is from my days in the 1st Cav, the blue & gold is from 1972 when I passed the class to hunt{age 14 back then - do they still require classes?}...I find all kinds of things when I clean, except money...ha guess you have to have some before you can misplace it

Thanks EZ, yeah I meant that 19/32nd's or whatever it is, but I do like the 5/8th's I used on the imperial...that's the ticket I believe.

Whats something like that{control unit} go for...roughly???

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

looks like the same white foam that was in mine...

The eye bolt looks like a nice replacement project..

The deck did look pretty good I think. I am aiming for 5/8ths on my deck too..

Keep it up...

BTW, I heat my shop with a very similar heating method....
