Congrats Kelly, let the fun begin! I know your excited, as we all are when we get a new toy, but make sure to check engine, drive, electrical etc real good. Take your time and question anything that dosen't seem right. Then sit back and dream of future outings after she is the way you want.
BTW, give the wife a hug, and thank her for your 'mistress';)

I say mistress 'cause she will take your time & money:p

Well guess who is not the proud owner of a new to me 1967 21'6" Starcraft Islander?

That's a pretty severe typo..... :p

Congrats! Can't wait to see it. Oh and no project boat buying experience is complete without a nerve-wracking drive home towing a dicey trailer.

Ok, it was a type that is for sure. I am NOW the proud owner of a new to me boat now, was really freaking tired when I posted. Was just so excited that I had to tell someone about it:D

Yes the wife is going to get a huge hug for the misstress that is for sure. And she knows that it is going to be an ongoing thing that is for sure.

Yes I do believe that it is going to be a fish slayer that is for sure and cannot wait to get to it. I have a ton of things to work on that is for sure.

Darn jolly good find. Man - seems you're up for a good time with that Islander - envy big time over here, I'm lightyears away from my Islander to-be. I'm perving over one on boatboss dreaming she's mine but haven't even proposed yet. Any pics?

Thanks NB, it was a very exciting trip that is for sure. The old gentleman said that he asked his daughter to post it for $2100 and she misunderstood and posted it for $1200 and I about crapped my pants. Asked him if he would take the 1200 and he said yes as he would like it out of his hair since he cannot use it anymore:D

XchichaX I live in St Helens and the boat was in Wilsonville. Like I said it was a wild trip coming home from there, passed quit a few peace officers and no lights on trailer. And on top of that I made a wrong turn and would up in downtown Portland which really sucked with that big boat and then my long truck.

I am going to go over and get some pics here pretty soon I am hoping. I have been out on the Columbia all day salmon fishing and not feeling so hot. I am diabetic and forgot to take some proper food for some snacks and now having a bad headache which sucks.

Lmao, did not even get a bite today. Infact, we only saw 1 boat to cut loose to chase one down and it was a jack. Heard they were killing them in Longview yesterday but today there is nothing there either.

Yeah dood... that's what we need... more pictures....

I'm starting to think we need to start a separate Islander Owners Club! Where's the little icon with the two beer glasses clinking together?

Congrats man! Take a day off and just go sit in the boat for a couple hours and absorb it's "aura". It'll tell you what it needs. We Starcraft owners know our boats speak to us. Just give it what it wants and all will be well.

Sounds like the old WDFW and Oregon fishery promo and the same, results you are faceing. Oh there are thousands of fish to be caught. RIGHT. Save it all for the gill netters.

Kelly, you just picked up one heckova boat. Let me know if you discover the need for any parts. I have lots of stuff here that I've collected since I bought the 66 a couple years ago.

PR, I'm amazed at your post! i can't tell you how many hours I've spend setting out in the shop in the boat just plotting and scheming.

Kelley You hauled that thru Portland, In the dark with no lights and no one stoped you ???? Probably thought it was full of Illeagels or drug runners. LOL West coast joke you understand. Thats a nice boat and you will love the canvas top. reminds me of my 21 Glasply HT, I sold last summer.

Yes I did haul it through downtown Portland in the dark and with no lights and did not get pulled over ar even given a second glance. I did pass several officers of different counties and cities and a few state boys as well, but no one bothered me thanfully.

You can go to photobucket to see the latest pics of my newly money pit but it is going to be a whole lot of fun that is for sure. http://s866.photobucket.com/albums/ab228/kcherry62
