hi im new here and im rebuilding my first motor and i was wondering where i can find a cheap place to get a lower unit for my motor thanks for all your help

Is it totally ruined, or do y0u just want an easy fix? Parts are rare for this one, and even seal kits are too. If you keep the old seal get the number off them, and you can get from chicago rawhide! If you need a whole unit, go to aomci, or ebay, or better yet get you a parts engine. Youll be be needing other things along the way. Mag parts are scarce, and it never hurts to have a spare belt and mag... just in case.

a couple of the fins are broken off thats why i need it replaced

which fins. I know a friend with a early 60's 75. He might have the case for you? Interested?

Is it electric shift or mechanical shift? If it is mechanical shift it will have a shift handle on the starboard side of the motor...

its the eletric shift and its the fin on the bottom and one on the side im not sure what they are called sorry but i hope this helps

I'd get the fins (skeg?) re-welded if the LU is ok. Electric LU's are rare and expensive.

i dont have the fins there where gone when i got the motor

A worthy welding shop can fabricate some pieces of metal and weld them in there. Some propeller repair shops do that kind of work also.

ill have to check that outbut first id like to see if i could find one

i have found one on ebay so far but it looks a little banged up so im going to keep looking
