I have recently purchased a 1962 Cruisers inc cuddy cabin project boat with a good trailer. This is a project boat with no motor. Im looking for help and advice on my next steps and sanding and painting advice. The hull is good and the interior is in good shape just needs cosmetics. The floor was a little soft so I removed the middle and found the stringers to be in good shape and the main floor is in good shape. the cabin is perfect just needs paint. The transom is a little soft :( need to know if or how to replace. I would like to sand and paint the boat to increase the look since its in my yard now. Need to know how to sand wet or dry what grit and process, the paint on their now is chipping and pealing and looks like it was just slapped on thick. Im kinda on a budget but dont mind putting in some hard work. I would like sanding and painting to be my first project allong with new floor.
Any advice would be appreciated
Couldnt find andy info on the model of my boat either or on Cruisers Inc.
I have pictures and will take more as i go.
Thanks

Are you sure the stringers and transom are good? A boat that old normally needs them replaced. I would look further into that before worrying about painting etc.

Welcome Aboard..& Welcome to the insanity or boat ownership..

You may want to really double check the stringers...
99.9% of the time if the transom is bad..they are as well.

The same trapped water that destroyed your transom was working it's evil plan on the stringers & deck as well..
