I have just checked the bottom end and all the gears are in great shape, clutch dog looks great. I am wondering if the shif linkage might not be fully engaging the gears?

The motor pulls hard then seems to slip out of gear and then slam back in. I changed the gears anyway, I had another set sitting here. Could it just be a linkage issue?

if so is there an easy adjustment for it?

Thanks in advance.

It could be the linkage. But I'll betcha you are looking at the bad parts and not seeing. It's the clutch dog and forward gear. You would be surprised at how good they can look and still jump.

O.k. well I put the other gears in and changed the propshaft, this new one is the one with the spring and ballbearings under the clutch dog, also the clutch dog for this gear set is larger then the original one, so I'll see what happens when I get it out on the lake.

the edges of the dog and gears, have to be square, no rounded edges.

Well I just re-rebuilt the bottom end as there was a slight oil leak. I'll be goin out to the lake tomorrow to see how the shifting is, it seems a lot crisper with the optional ballbearing shaft. While I was doing this I decided to replace the Impeller, the old one looked good but might as well change it.

No leaks now, I hope things will go well from now on.

I'll keep you posted.
