1962 Lone Star MEDALLION Interior???

Friends,

I've yet again found a nice classic boat on a suitable Lone Star period trailer "sitting out in the weeds" BUT the entire interior & seating has been stripped out & thrown away by the previous (now deceased) owner.

Does anyone have a factory brochure for 1962 Lone Star boats, which pictures the MEDALLION 16-foot boat, including the interior arrangements & seating? OR perhaps has GOOD QUALITY color photos of the original style interior?
(The "library" at figerglassics.com does NOT have the photos/brochure for 1962 NOR have I found images on the Internet, that are good enough for the upholsterer to copy successfully.)

I would be pleased to hear from you, should you have such photos/brochure. - PLEASE PM me.

NOTE: The Lone Star, when the restoration is completed, will be powered with a pair of 1962 Johnson RKL-24 outboards.

As far as the seats, I think you will find the older boats didn't change much over a period of years, maybe colors, and a small modification here and there, but not like cars.

YEP. I'm a longtime member of fiberglassics.com & there is NO information in the "library" on 1962 Lone Star "tin" boats".

hey tex, off to the post office with your patterns/dimensions. If same as mine they will fit like a glove.

Heres a pic from the fiberglassics site - might be able to get a bit from it. I still have the blue underneath my peeling red. Your seats look to be a bit square edged. I would not use that dark of a brown if you go back original.


Note - the side panel dimensions you will be getting are pretty much squared off. If you look at the pic below, the port side it appears the panel round into below the splashwell. The numbers I gave you are straight down. Wish I'd see this first; kinda like it.

For the simple reason of privacy, I've kept some of this OFF the forum, as it included the hull serial number & "TX-number".

The photo of the MEDALLION above is VERY similar to the April 1962-built Lone Star that I'm buying with the period trailer. = It's even the same color.
Once I get it restored, I'll get my daughter to make some decent photos of the boat, the pair of restored 40HP JOHNSON BigTwin outboards & refurbished trailer and will get her to post them to this forum.
(I'm NOT adept at either photography or computers.)

well I haven't heard form you hopefully you got the patterns, but I forgot one piece so add more plywood. its a square cut with one notch each side should be easy enough to measure out
