Hi some of you may know I am trying to get my little GW invader 10 foot boat going for the spring.I have a question on the prop on my old 28HP.I will include a pic for referance. Is this prop in good condition to run as is or should I replace it.If I should replace I have not been able to find a replacement yet.Where would be a good place to look.I cannot find any numbers on the prop that I can see..What would be a good replacement, are they all standard on these old motors? The one as you can see has some nicks and small peices missing on the edges.I want the motor to perform as well as it can and am putting in a new waterpump so now would be the time to adress the prop if you think its neccesary.. Thanks

Your motor was shipped from the factory with a 378581 10 3/8" x 11 1/2" prop. I think what you are showing there is a 380637 10 1/2" x 12", which was factory issue on a 40hp. But "factory issue" was their best guess assuming the average boat the motor was likely to be used on. In your case, I suspect the 12" would be a good choice.

Best thing is try it and see how it performs before going out and buying something else that might not be a good choice.

Up to a 14" pitch was available With a 10 ft boat you will need every bit of that
12" pitch.

I don't know anything about props, but I would keep your old one for a spare. Never know what can happen.

And to answer your question, I'd have no problems using that prop. A tad beat up but no problem in my opinion.

E-bay is an excellent source for items like used props if you decide to go that route. They can be had for as little as 10-15$. Just keep an eye out. It doesn't seem like your prop is that bad however...unless it is the wrong one as mentioned.
