I recently installed a new waterpump kit and started up motor yesterday and noticed no water coming from water hole exit? Where abouts is the water exit on the 63 motors? I also can not shut motor off only by slowing throttle down!:/
Check the wiring to the kill switch. and if you have the motor on land with muff on it it should come out around the lower unit eg. from above the prop. Im not really sure on the 1963 because you havnt stated weather its electric or manual shift
I have a 62 Johnson 40 and when in the water it spits water out of a hole below the motor on the back . and has 3 holes on the side above the prop that water comes out of when I pull the motor up. hope that helps.
The motor is manual shift. I notice at least 2 holes on back of motor where I have exhaust coming from, Is that where water should come out of? also Cannot find a kill switch on this motor!!
