Is the pic above enough? Or do you need to see the entire elbow?

No we can see the gaping cracked hole in the exhaust passage. That piece of metal is junk, sir.

Ayuh,.... I'd need to see it all, to know what it matches...

It appears to be the early squarish 1, that goes straight back from the manifold...

Yeah I have to agree, now to find a replacement. I didn't even notice it when I took it off, I heard the pieces rattling around in it and still didn't look at it until the gaskets arrived and I was getting ready to start gasket scraping. Geesh, how depressing!

It is square, except where the hose attaches. The outside is in great shape, the inside not so much. Will get some good pics posted tomorrow. Thank you

Here are a couple more pics to help identify this junk metal.

Make sure you rotate that block by hand a few times with the head off and make sure all the pistons all come up to the top and that everything moves OK. Depending on how much water was pouring into the cylinder on the compression stroke it may have cracked the cylinder wall or bent a rod. Look down in each cylinder and make sure they look good as well.

I recently had the same problem with a manifold rotting out on a 5.7L v-8. luckily there was no major damage, water must have been pushing by the rings or something to get into the oil.

I've had the head off, and the pistons, cylinders etc. all look really good, took the side valve cover off to check for cracks (all good) I'm hoping new gaskets and replace the riser/elbow will cure this thing.
It belongs to a super nice older fella, he and his fishing buddy are ready to get it back, and I really want it to be in excellent shape.

Great news !!!
After replacing the important gaskets and the damaged exhaust riser; this thing started up, with the timing set and carb. adjustments she purred quite nicely. And the important part is: No water leaks! Ran her for about 25 min. then checked oil and removed #4 plug and all is good.
Thought I would share the good news.
