Re: 1964 Cutter
You might find the
Cutter info here interesting. Sounds like it's not likely to be a 1964 Cutter....
But it does look very like the 1959:
There were a few 14' Cutter's offered. But since joining w/ Brunswick, and moving factories in 1960, the Cutter line was discontinued 1 year after the move....
If you can get the serial # on the Johnson 33hp, I'd bet the motor's a 1964, or different '64 motor was on the boat at that time. At some point, the boat was sold, and then a title or registration was issued & the often the motor was much easier to ID & it's year was used. This was the case w/ my FireFlite. It was titled as a 1957, but it is clearly not, looks nothing like a '57. But it's length, beam & transom width and appearance easily match the '60 FireFlite. But it did come w/ a 1957 Johnson motor.
If you're up for a project, it could be a nice little runabout. I would try & get it for $300 or less. Much less if the motor won't fire when you go to look at it. As what looks to be a 33hp electric shift motor, it should be considered a fancy anchor if it doesn't RUN & shift into forward & reverse when you go to look at it.
And ONLY use mixed gas as starting fluid, normal starting fluid will starve the cylinders of the necessary oil & is not healthy for the motor's longevity. AND NEVER run out of water, or off the water muffs....
Interested to see your other project finished too
