I cant figure out why this motor wont turn over, I bought a manual for it but there was no wire diagram for that model. The motor turns over when you cross silinoid connections but it turns immensely hard and slow. i was wondering if someone could tell me the basic wiring for getting this motor running or a similar motor with the same wire diagram. or something i would appreciate any responce thank you

Has this motor been sitting for a while? If so, maybe the pistons need to be freed up. Can you pull it over with the rope?
Wiring can corrode internally and loose its conductivity. Also, the starter may need to be rebuilt to replace worn brushes etc. Take the starter off and bench test run it to ensure it's running fine.
I would think the wiring should be the same as the 75 hp with electric shift.

Go to the Engine Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and do "Outboard won't start", efreak.

The chances are good that you have a bad connection in the big wiring for the starter circuit.

Good luck. :)
