1964 Evinrude Lark 6 points gap and other Q's

Hey everyone, I know I should have posted earlier in the day but I got spaced. I will be pulling the flywheel off my 1964 evinrude lark 6 to replace all the ignition components tomorrow and I was wondering what to set the points at. I THINK I remember it being 20 thous, and the plug being 30 thous but I am not sure. We made a homemade puller to remove the flywheel and I was just wondering if there is anything I should beware of going into this job. Also, what oil/gas mix should I have? And does anyone know who still sells lead additive? I have a few bottles left over from my grandfather, but thats not going to last forever. One last question is, does anyone know the C/R on these engines? I am on lake simco ontario by the way. Thanks, Adam

'64 Evinrude Lark.
Points: .020",
Plugs, Champion J4C or J6C: .030"
Fuel mix: 50:1, 87 octane UNLEADED and TC-W3 outboard oil.

Do not add tetraethyl lead to the fuel. It is an octane booster and valve lubricator (no valves in a 2 stroke) useful only in old 4 stroke engines.

Compression ratio is not relevant in a 2 stroke, but is quite low. Cylinder compression psi should be within 10% of equal between the cylinders and well over about 60psi. There is no psi spec because there are so many variables in addition to engine mechanical health.

Damn, thanks a lot JB! It was like 3am when I wrote that and I guess the fact that its a 2 stroke and has no valves for the lead to lubricate pretty much eluded me LOL! Thanks a lot for the info though, I really appreciate. Hopefully we get her into the water today for the first time in 20+ years. Thanks, Adam
