1964 Evinrude will not start. Elec. Problem?

I have a 1964 Evinrude Starflite. 4 cyl, 75 HP.<br /><br />The engine turns but we are not getting any electric current to the spark plugs. we think that It might be the coil but are not sure. We checked the distib. cap and it looks clean and almost new.<br /><br />The engine was tuned up and working great 5 years ago. Since then It was sitting in a garage. <br /><br />Any ideas?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Steve

Hi Steve29,<br />The points probably have a film of oxidation on them.Sand them lightly with 1000 grit wet or dry sand paper. check the spark with the gas lever at slow speed.Hope you have spark<br />other wise it could be the coil.<br />...corm...
