was the little 1.5 of the mid sixties a good motor? are parts as easy to come by as most other johnsons of that era? ( have a chance to buy one, still has the original owners manual and tool kit, just wondering if its even worth looking at?) edit: its a 1968

I had one and could buy parts for it, but just about any of the parts needed added up to more than the motor was worth. I sold it running for $25.00

Just as a hint....... trolling motors are more powerful then those older motors.

Many of the tiny older ones are disposable and parts can be VERY hard to find. :(

I had a friend who had one. He didn't like to pull start it so he used a battery powered electric drill on the flywheel--worked every time.
