hi there , I have twin 1964 3hp johnson 's that I cannot seem to get going. I bought the manual and still getting no where. Both have great spark , 1 starts then dies and then has fuel leaking from carb, I have checked the float and needle and they seem fine as well, I have also cleaned it all up. the 2nd was fogged and winterized before I bought it, is there any precausions I should take as it will not start either. It won't even fire but has great spark but seems to have too much fuel as well. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks to all.

If fuel is leaking from the carb then check the float and needle valve more carefully.

If you get a good spark with a spark tester then next change the plug.

If you have proven good spark and a new plug then the next thing is fuel supply and carb.

It should be possible to get it to fire and run briefly by spraying some fuel mix into the carb intake.

throttle valve opening? choke closing?

How well have you cleaned the carb. All jets and passages cleaned?

The fogging oil will prevent the plug firing until its all cleaned off.
