Redid the LU seals, but couldn't find where some of them in the kit went to...put it all back together and yet when I ran it, with a hose in the water inlet, it isn't pumping. Does the water pump rely on those 6 small drilled holes to pull in water? If so, what is the screen on the passenger side of the motor for(about 2" long x 3/4" tall)? And where EXACTLY does the water get INTO the water pump/impeller? I don't see where it goes in.

Thanks

You can't run a 40 on a hose unless you have the Tempo Flushette adapter, which is pretty rare.

The water intake is the screen on the leading edge of the exhaust snout above/rearward of the propeller. Shoving a water hose up the exhaust is a great way to fill the cylinders with water and damage the bearings if you don't get it out of there.
